WARRANTY INFORMATION

Bilstein-Shocks.co.uk — Operated by Sourcefy LTD

Our Commitment

Bilstein products are engineered for durability and performance. If something is not right, we will work with you to diagnose the issue and reach a fair, timely resolution within the framework set by Bilstein, the manufacturer.

This page explains exactly what is covered, how the claims process works, and what to expect at each stage — so there are no surprises.

What Is Covered

All Bilstein products purchased through Bilstein-Shocks.co.uk include a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, valid from the date of purchase shown on your order confirmation.

Examples of issues that may be eligible for warranty cover, subject to manufacturer inspection and confirmation, include:

Internal oil or gas leakage caused by seal failure under normal road use

Failure of internal valving or damping components not attributable to misuse or wear

Structural failure of the unit body, mounting points, or piston rod under normal road use

Manufacturing defects in materials or assembly that are present from delivery

All claims are subject to physical inspection and final determination by the manufacturer’s technical centre.

What Is Not Covered

The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover issues arising from external factors, misuse, incorrect installation, or normal wear. Specifically excluded are:

Installation, Removal & Consequential Costs

Mechanic’s fees, labour costs, alignment costs, vehicle recovery, hire-car costs, and loss-of-use costs are not reimbursable under this warranty.

We strongly recommend obtaining warranty approval before commissioning any removal or replacement work,as costs incurred prior to claim assessment cannot be recovered if the claim is later rejected.

Motorsport, Track & Heavy-Duty Use

Products used in motorsport, drifting, racing, time-attack, off-road competition, continuous track use, or any application beyond the unit’s designed road-use specification are not covered.

Incorrect Installation or Fitment

Products fitted without required protection components (such as bump stops, dust covers, top mounts, or specified hardware).

Products installed without the required torque specifications, paired with incompatible springs, or fitted to vehicles outside the published application list.

Damage caused during installation, including impact damage, thread damage, or contamination.

Modified or Tampered Products

Any product that has been disassembled, re-gassed, re-valved, repainted, or otherwise altered from its original manufactured condition.

Cosmetic & Environmental Damage

Surface corrosion, stone chips, road-salt damage, paint or coating wear from normal road exposure, and general cosmetic wear are not covered.

Cosmetic defects present at the point of delivery must be reported within 14 days of receipt to be considered.

Misuse, Overloading & Misapplication

Use of the product on a vehicle, axle, or in a configuration outside Bilstein’s published compatibility data.

Damage caused by accident, impact, overloading, towing beyond rated capacity, or operating a vehicle with another failed component (e.g. broken springs, worn mounts).

Ownership

This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.

How to Submit a Claim

To open a claim, please email us with the following information so we can assess your case quickly. Incomplete submissions will delay processing.

Email: support@bilstein-shocks.co.uk

Please include:

      Your order number

The product’s part number and, where visible, the serial number or batch code on the unit

Vehicle details: make, model, year, and engine variant

Mileage at the time of installation and at the time the issue developed

Approximate installation date and details of who fitted the product (professional installer or self-fit)

Clear photographs and, where possible, a short video showing the issue

A brief description of the symptoms and how they developed

All claims must be submitted within 14 days of the issue being discovered, and within the 2-year warranty period.

How the Claim Process Works

Step 1 — Initial Review (1–2 working days)

We review the details and photos you provide and may request additional information. This step helps us identify obvious non-warranty cases early so you do not incur unnecessary return-shipping costs.

Step 2 — Warranty Request Form & Return Authorisation

If the claim proceeds, we will issue a mandatory Warranty Request Form together with return instructions. The form must be completed in full before the unit is sent in. Returns received without authorisation cannot be processed.

Step 3 — Return for Inspection

You must return the affected unit to the technical centre using a tracked and insured courier. Suspension components require physical inspection — photographs alone cannot confirm internal failure modes.

Step 4 — Inspection & Testing (typically 3–5 working days from receipt)

The unit is inspected and tested by the manufacturer’s technical centre. We will share the outcome with you in writing, with a clear explanation of the findings.

Step 5 — Outcome

Manufacturing defect confirmed:the unit will be repaired or replaced at no cost. Resolution timing depends on Bilstein’s repair workflow and replacement-stock availability, and we will give you an estimated timeline at this stage.

No fault found:the unit will be returned to you in its current condition.

Non-warranty issue:where the failure is due to external factors, we will provide a paid repair or replacement quote where one is available from the manufacturer.

Shipping & Return Costs

Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. We recommend a tracked and insured service, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit before they reach the technical centre.

UK customers:where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will arrange the onward dispatch of the repaired or replacement unit at no charge to you.

Customers outside the UK:this website serves the UK market. For orders shipped outside the UK, all inbound and outbound shipping, customs duties, taxes, and handling charges associated with a warranty claim remain the customer’s responsibility, regardless of the inspection outcome.

Reimbursement of return shipping is not provided.Your statutory rights as a UK consumer are unaffected — see Your Legal Rights below.

No Advance Replacements

Bilstein-Shocks.co.uk does not provide advance replacements. Because suspension components must be physically inspected by the manufacturer to confirm a warrantable defect, the suspected unit must be returned and tested before a repair or replacement can be authorised.

We understand this can be inconvenient, but it is a condition imposed by the manufacturer’s warranty process and applies to all retailers. It exists to protect the integrity of the warranty system for all customers.

Important Safety Note

If you suspect a fault with a suspension component, stop using the vehicle where it is safe to do so and have it inspected by a qualified mechanic before further driving. Driving on a failed suspension unit can damage other components, mask the original failure mode, and may compromise vehicle safety.

Your Legal Rights

This manufacturer’s warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights as a UK consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in this policy limits any right you may have against Sourcefy LTD as the retailer in respect of goods that are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.

This warranty is limited to the product itself and to remedies provided by the manufacturer. It does not extend to consequential losses except where required by law.
